Renaissance Faire

  • Furnace Town Living Heritage Village 3816 Old Furnace Road Snow Hill, MD, 21863 (map)

10 am- 6pm Daily

The Renaissance comes to Furnace Town!

The first-ever Renaissance Faire at Furnace Town will be held on August 21st and 22nd. The event will celebrate the spirit of the Renaissance period, 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries in Europe when individuals embraced the awakening of new thinking and new ideas. It was a time of kings and queens and highly respected knights in shining armor.

Guests should expect a fun-filled day of merriment for the whole family set on the beautiful and tranquil grounds of Furnace Town. The Community Players of Salisbury and the Ocean Pines Players will be dressed in period costume entertaining attendees throughout the day with skits and plays.

The Shire of Spiaggia Levantina, a small local group that is part of the worldwide non-profit educational organization called the Society for Creative Anachronism, will also be dressed in period costumes and participating in many of the faire's events and featured displays.

Live music, crafts and games for the kids and adults, hair braiding, face painting, henna, local artisans, food, drink, and live demonstrations of the ancient arts including blacksmithing, broom making, spinners, and woodworking will be on hand. Additionally, the Ocean City Pipe and Drum, a local volunteer marching band dressed in plaid kilts, will add to the excitement with music.

Admission for adults is just $10 per day with youth ages 12 to 18 at $5 per day. Children under age 12 are free. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period clothing and participate in the festivities.
